"It doesn't hurt by any means, but it's just not fully there, fully healthy," he said. "It's healthy enough to play, definitely. Sometimes it aches, sometimes it just feels tired - it's never that consistency that I'm looking for. ...
I really wish he were less selfish when it comes to playing through injuries. It doesn't help him or the team to be unhealthy and try to gut through it.

He wants to put on 20 lbs
So now he’ll be lazy AND fat.

If you can put his name somewhere on the fanpost
Only way to know who it is by clicking the link.
Either way I think him bulking up would be a good thing for him. Although I’m not sure how he plans to do that if he is really going to rest his shoulder.
Can we get robots for umpires and a computer to make in game strategy decisions? I'm sick of inconsistently bad umpiring and Joe's pitiful in game management. Oh and Navi (and BJ) need some PED's. BenZo, Bartlett, and Pena do not.
Putting on weight could be extremely bad for him
He needs to stay flexible and 20 pounds is way too much for that.
Embrace Eternity
He is, however, a skeleton
Not a hint of muscle or fat on his body
1. James Shields 2. Wade Davis 3. Matt Garza 4. David Price 5. Jeff Niemann
Man, those comments after the article are horrible
I just don’t understand people sometimes.
Was he really that stupid to think that he could play like that throughout the entire season?
And is he really stupid enough now to think that the smart thing to do at this point is to shut it down and start his offseason early? Why would you come back if you can’t play at full strength and there’s nothing to play for? Why would the team even want you back if this is the case? Go get healthy, and stop being a dick.
I can't wait until we trade him for a reliever.

B.J upton’s ray career. I can’t wait until we trade him for a CF, oh wait.
WHOO, LUKE! LUKE! LUKE!
ALSO! NOW THE HEAD OF THE PUFFY-ROD BANDWAGON.
Playing injured is one thing. Playing injured when clearly you're struggling to contribute is completely different.
And I’ll tell you something else, if he’s been like this and didn’t tell anyone on the coaching staff, that really is selfish.
I can't wait until we trade him for a reliever.
i broke my ankle in february in an injury that looked identical to BJ's. I wasn't able to walk without crutches for 6 weeks. Even though BJ didn't break his ankle, the fact that he is already running is amazing.
I tore ligaments in my ankle when I played football. I wasn't able to walk for about 5 weeks, It was fine.
I hope he has gotten an MRI because mine was originally just a sprain but it was torn badly. They should shut him down.

You mean he is wanting to play, where was he all season, why didn’t he want to play then. HE HASN’T GIVEN EVEN 50% ON THE FIELD AND I HOPE THE RAYS GET RID OF HIM OR HE LEAVES IN FA AT SOMETIME. HE WAS TROUBLE ALL YEAR WITH HIS ATTITUDE AND STRIKEOUTS, HE NEEDS TO GO!!!! Want to save money, lose him.
Upton is in a classic np-win situation
And it doesn’t help that Marc Topkin and him don’t get along…Anyone know what the deal is with Topkin? I know it’s been an issue of mine, but Topkin seems to have something personal with Upton
Put Tampa Bay back on our road uniforms!! Attendance is only part of revenue!!
