I think i've read on BA
or maybe heard on a podcast, that this years college talent isn’t deep at all. That should help take some of the sting out of this ranking…

so i can stop posting his name

He wanted (and got) legit money.

I'm not okay our scouting staff missing out on our first two picks.

Why couldn't we have both?
Since so many catching prospects flame out anyway, might as well stock up

And Friedman has said that we have to build through the draft.
Not signing our first two picks is unacceptable. And not willing to budge off slot when drafting a Boras client is just stupid.

I don't know where you got the impression that I was okay with not signing the first or second picks.
I don’t believe “I’m fine with Bailey” or “He wanted and got legit money” implies such.

Next season
I thought if they did not sign a 1st or 2nd rounder then they get that same pick the next season? Now they will have 4 picks in the 1st 2 rounds next season.

Yes, they'll get compensation picks for both guys.

Yes but I can just about guarantee the players taken with the comp picks
won’t be as good(/have as high a ceiling) as Washington/Diekroeger. Not to mention what having to spend money on two extra picks will do to our willingness to select over-slot guys with the regular picks we have.

To an extent I guess it depends on how deep the '10 draft is, especially among college players
And it certainly looks to be shallow based on Levon’s ranking of 4. Bad news.

Nobody knows anything at this point, it's stupid to make a list like this at this time.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but our comp picks will be near our pick next year. Surely we will have 2 picks before 30 next year.

I believe the comp pick is directly behind the pick that didn't sign
so it would be end of 1st and and end of 2nd.

An actual ranking doesn't really do much
But you can definitely predict a strong/weak class this far out.

Weak class for sure, outside of #1
