Rays Bullpen Fiasco

Joe Madden was a fantastic manager in 2008; he had very limited tools in the pen to work with in 2009, but also made extremely suspect decisions.  The biggest issue I had was the repeated trend and pattern of going through to the 4th rotation for opposing line-up and having his starter yanked after a batter reaches....usually after a walk.   Its like a repeating nightmare....then the pen inherits baserunners....always...and once Kazmir was traded I believe the palyers said OK...you tanked us.  After Kazmir left, the team went 3-14 and still dropping.   Morale took a major hit with that clear message from the clubhouse.  Oh...great move in sending Jackson to Detroit and Hinske to NY....and Baldelli to Boston...and picking up Pat Burrell....Einstein said once...'You can not solve the problem with the same thinking that created it'.  Please don't outsmart yourself in 2010....and destroy clubhouse chemistry any more than you have.  The magic and glue of 2008 was a deep and true belief and unity amongst the players....you can not use a 'uber scale' for that.  Sad but true you screwed it up...and I have heard from some insiders that serious rifts from players to management brewing which will manifest itself in player disagreements as well.

Idiot

Yes, the Rays are all petty, whiny 3rd graders who stopped trying because their best friend in the whole world and team “glue” (Scotty K, team savior!) left. Please ignore the fact that these are professional ball players that would rather eat a baby than lose to this freaking B-squad of Orioles. Highly competitive, well paid professionals are not going to lay down and quit. I can’t believe you went to the trouble of joining today just to get this silly rant off your chest. “If Edwin and Hinske and Rocco were here we’d be 25 games over .500!!” Yeah…. Look, everyone on this site is torn up watching this crap fest lately, but don’t start pointing fingers at “morale” and “team chemistry”. Losing streaks suck, the bullpen has been mis-managed and probably overworked, and the bats are cold. Enjoy the talent that’s here, go to stubHub and get incredible seats for cheap on this upcoming homestand, and let’s get ready for redemption and skull busting in 2010. Go Rays!
