The tree was down and cut to lengths, the sections spread and jumbled over the grass. There was a stocky man with three fingers bound up in a dirty bandage with a splint. With him were a Negro and a young man, the three of them gathered about the butt of the tree. The stocky man laid aside the saw and he and the Negro took hold of the piece of fence and strained and grunted until they got the log turned over. The man got to one knee and peered into the cut. We best come in this way, he said. The Negro picked up the crosscut and he and the man began sawing again. They sawed for a time and then the man said, Hold it. Goddamn, that',s it again. They stopped and lifted the blade from the cut and peered down into the tree. Uh-huh, said the Negro. It sho is now, ain't it?


The young man came over to see. Here, said the man, look sideways here. See? He looked. All the way up here? he said. Yep, the man said. He took hold of the twisted wrought-iron, the mangled fragment of the fence, and shook it. It didn't shake. It's growed all through the tree, the man said. We cain't cut no more on it. Damned old elum's bad enough on a saw.


The Negro was nodding his head. Yessa, he said. It most sholy has. Growed all up in that tree.

I'm loving it.

Tebow and the reaction from Florida fans made FSU’s upset tolerable, and the Bucs are a gold mine for drinking and telling shitty jokes. Hopefully they throw Josh Johnson to the fire – run some liberal amount of the shotgun, let him run a little, and make things difficult for the defense. He’s got some serious talent – unlike most short QBs, he’s patient and has a very, very good arm.

Meh, it was a concussion, and they have an off week before LSU. I’m no too worried about him. It’s not like his brain was all that before the pounding.

It did provide for some pretty good jokes after a terrible, terrible loss Saturday for my Deacs.

I was at Po Boy's in Tallahassee and it got pretty quiet in there while he was down.

I was drunk out of my mind at that game at RayJay.

Wow that was an embarrassment, I still thought we might be good at that time, since I came up during the tail of the Mike Kruzek/Ryan Schneider era where we used to air the ball out. Drunky O’Leary is a disgrace.

Everyone just vomits up what they hear on TV and think it’s the end all analysis. They’d rather spew that verbal diarrhea out than do any analysis on their own, or have any type of free think as opposed to the circle jerk group think going on.

Decisions and plays aren’t made in an effing vacuum.

You want to argue the Glazer’s didnt spend? I wont argue, but what DID they do? Why didnt they spend, who fit our schemes, who was available.

If we wanted a better QB, hell, just trade for Peyton Manning, it’s a solution that works great in a vacuum, but when you consider the implications its stupid.

Just mob mentality from a bunch of neanderthals who can’t collectively wipe their ass without being told to do so.

I didn't read this thread.

Just wanted to say that this is the worst Buccaneers team since 1994. Easily. That was the worst thing I’ve ever sat through yesterday (and yes – I DO INCLUDE 9/11). I hate the Tampa sports fans and hope every team moves away to somewhere that loves them. THAT’S WHERE I AM WITH 2009.

Team looks to be much improved this year. Revamped/Healthy defense, healthy Smith, and Lecavalier+Tanguay+ St.Louis+Stamkos+Malone in the top two lines.
