Current And Historical Speed Score

Speed Score is not a true skill evaluator of a player's speed, but I think it comes up pretty darn close. Using Baseball Databank, we can find out the career speed score of the current Rays roster and who were fastest and slowest Rays in franchise history. My formula get's it pretty close to the actual Fan Graphs numbers but may by several tenth points off. The current Rays roster first.

NAMEwobaSPD
Carl Crawford .340 8.0
Jason Bartlett .331 5.9
B.J. Upton .338 5.5
Fernando Perez .277 5.1
Gabe Kapler .329 4.9
Ben Zobrist .346 4.5
Reid Brignac .289 4.3
Evan Longoria .372 4.3
Justin Ruggiano .256 3.4
Matthew Joyce .352 3.2
Sean Rodriguez .271 3.1
Carlos Pena .362 2.8
Willy Aybar .333 2.4
Dioner Navarro .292 2.3
Elliot Johnson .114 2.1
Pat Burrell .359 2.0
Kelly Shoppach .334 1.2

A slower team than what I expected it to be when comparing them to the average of about 5 (which might be 4.8 or so for these numbers). Also remember small sample sizes come into effect here for say Sean Rodriguez.

The bolded names are the current Rays who had at least 467 PAs as one (which was necessary to include this guy).

Included the wOBA for show but like my Speed Score numbers, they aren't FG accurate.
