Carl Crawford and 2011 payroll

It is no secret Stu has come out and said he wants to cut payroll next season and it is a fore gone conclusion that CC will not be with us next season. Well I have spent a lot of time looking at the payroll and I do not see why the Rays can't cut payroll 20 mil and still keep CC. The way I see it is our payroll was roughly 73 mil this season which includes in that number Pat Burrell. So if you subtract the roughly 8 mil he made that puts the Rays at 65 mil. Navi and his 2 mil will not be back and with Soriano signing with Boras he is definitely gone which is another 7 mil. Also as much as I love Pena he is not worth 10 mil so I say they offer him 2-3 mil because I doubt he will get much better of an offer and at that price he is worth keeping. Right there is a total of approx 24 mil saved. I also say we dump Wheeler and his 3 mil and trade Bartlett whom is also making on the plus side of 3 mil and lastly with HellBoy ready for a rotation spot in 2011 the Rays can trade Garza or hopefully Shields. Maybe I am dreaming but the way I see it we can easily shave 30 mil off of the payroll with those moves and then if we offer CC 15-16 mil a yr which would be a 6 mil a yr raise the Rays will still be saving a little over 20 mil a year! CC said after the game again that he does not want to leave Tampa so I really hope we find a way to keep him!!
