Sources: Tigers have big interest in Crawford
Crawford, 29, is the most prized position player in this year’s free-agent market. The Tigers already have re-signed third baseman Brandon Inge and are expected to re-sign shortstop Jhonny Peralta.

They saved money in 09 offseason for this offseason so this isn't shocking.

Believe the Tigers is unprotected.
Which means, go get him Detroit. Better you than the Angels.

I think Detroit will have a better shot at Crawford than most people think
Probably the team that would be willing to tack on that 6th or 7th year to seal the deal. Could be loaded offensively if they also sign Victor Martinez. Very winnable AL Central. If the Tigers have enough pitching, they could be back on the rise in 2011.
