Nats want Garza/Greinke a lot
However, the Rays want Ian Desmond and/or Jordan Zimmerman and that is unlikely according to reports. Honestly Zimmerman takes away the spot Hellickson would of just gotten and Reid Brignac/Sean Rodriguez is a good MIF for me.
So names being mentioned are Danny Espinona, Roger Bernadina would be available and it's possible that the Nationals would consider trading Drew Storen or Sean Burnett,
Thats MLBtr, rotoworld mentions Ramos
What do you think of a package of Espinona, Bernandia, Storen and Ramos for Garza?

Thinking something like this ...
If I’m the Rays, the guys that interest me off the Nats roster are:
Tier 1 – Derek Norris, Jordan Zimmerman
Tier 2 – Danny Espinosa, Drew Storen, Ian Desmond, Wilson Ramos
One Tier 1 + One Tier 2
or
Three Tier 2
for
Garza
Norris, Willingham, Clippard
Throw in Bartlett and Colome
Hell yeah it is.
Any amount of points can be scored week to week. well, besides 1 point. Any number is as likely to be reached as another, since there’s only one of each number, each has the same chance to be hit. IT’s how the syetemof averages works.

Based on peripheral stats ... Zimmerman could be better than Garza going forward
Adding to Zimmerman (and his cost controlled years) another solid piece to mitigate the risk associated with his TJ and less of an overall track record makes some sense.
MLB Career
Zimmerman 8.75 k/9 2.87 bb/9 4.16 fip 3.57 xfip
Garza 7.10 k/9 3.18 bb/9 4.26 fip 4.45 xfip
Could be interesting to see if the Rangers or Yankees get into the fray now that they both missed out on Cliff Lee.
I like Zimmerman, both of em on the Nats
But the idea of trading Garza is to get a spot for Hellickson so unless we put Niemann in the pen which I think would work well, an SP is the last thing we need.
Price, Garza, Shields, Davis, Hellickson is too awesome, Niemann for closer?
Zimmerman was just starting to dominate, consistently, before getting the TJ. He's a real good arm and already has his TJS out of the way, unlike Garza.
Hell yeah it is.

Garza and Bartlett
I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Padres deal fall through. I would take Mike Morse, Sean Burnett, Colin Balester and Winston Ramos for Garza and Bartlett. Morse could platoon with DanJo at 1B/DH.
Axtually, I think Garza goes to the Rangers for David Murphy and Darren O"Day
Both of those trades would be awful

No interest in Zimmerman unless we are trading a SP for no reason
I would like Wilson Ramos, Drew Storen and Sean Burnett and if they wanna toss in Espinosa, then why not
or a little ML talent? Norris so we get our prospect, then Storen, Clippard and Willingham
Price, Garza, Shields, Davis, Hellickson is too awesome, Niemann for closer?
I'd do Zimmerman for Garza...
Then trade another piece from the rotation, I wouldn’t call Jordan an upgrade year 1 (though he could be), but by the time he hits arb he will produce equal if not better numbers than Garza for ~5mil less. I’m probably projecting him too kindly, and the NL to AL transition is mentioned so often for a reason, but that kid is great.

If we get him, I would be a lot more understanding of letting go of the Beejer
Hammer, Jennings, Joyce with Zobrist/Nando as the back ups sounds pretty nice to me.
Hell yeah it is.

Nice finish last night, if I were a gambling man I'd spot you 3 more because I'm running away with that shizz next week
I don’t want to see Beej go, but if we get a sure thing stud with more control, then I’d have to think about it.
