Report: Tampa Bay Rays Are Finalist for Russell Branyan; Had Interest in Chien-Ming Wang
These snippets from the FOX Twitter accounts. First, Rosenthal:
Branyan down to #Indians, #Rays. #RedSox no longer factor. Indians still favorite.
And Morosi:
#Nationals #Reds #Indians made major-league offers to Wang this winter, source says. #Dodgers and #Rays showed interest but no offer. #MLB
And oh hey, Topkin reports that David Price had LASIK ... nearly a month after we did. His nose for scoops is in the best shape of its life.

I dunno why they'd want Branyan to DH
when they can pay 3 times as much for Johnny Damon

I wish we had Jason Kendall instead

Sick burn, brah

You got me, I guess
I am actually excited for the Rays (and Branyan) — theyr’e in a tight race for the wildcard, and Branyan is about a win better than Burrell over a full season so…
anyway, I’m so deflated that I can’t defend KC’s front office now, which I would totally do because we’re all us dumb KC fans so excited about Jason Kendall.

Interest in Wang...
I hope it was just to serve up BP to save the coach’s arms throughout the season
Think Shawn Camp

So what..
I have to imagine him being trotted out of the pen 81 times to give up the tying or go-ahead run each time?

Topkin:
+ SS Jason Bartlett showed up early just so he could get out, run around and take ground balls on the field after spending the off-season in rainy northern California, where his family lives, and a few weeks in snowy New York, where his wife’s family is from. He got to hit off a tee and take some batting practice, but missed being on the field and said next year he’ll be back in Florida earlier.
Didn’t get the memo about trimmed payroll?

We can only hope
Nothing against Barty, but if he’s in Pt St Lucie, the Rays did quite well for themselves

I figured Bartlett told him.
Or Rocco.

Every one of your posts is glazed in delicious contempt.
I love it.

They should just pull the RSS feed from DRB and have it auto-populate their front page. It's a lot cheaper then hiring a 'staff writer' to just farm everything from the site.
I miss George Steinbrenner. He was the man responsible for keeping the Yankees competitive.

lasik is actually quite expensive
although not by professional athletes’ standards

Not really.
It’s around $3500 without insurance. With insurance, you can get it for around $1800.
Tools Whore
Chan Ho Park just wants a major league deal at this point
Rays, Yankees and Cubs are going after him. If we offer him the major league deal, he should come pretty cheap.
Fire and Ice: Rafael Soriano and J.P Howell.......with their side kick Grant the aussie Balfour!
then we would have quite a stacked bullpen
--Gerald Wallace is the best player the Bobcats will have..... EVER
--Someone should slap Larry Brown and bring him back to reality..
If the price is right.
He’s a good hedge against Burrell, seems to do fine against RHP.
