Willy Aybar Out For Week With Wrist Injury
According to Joe Smith, Rays infielder Willy Aybar will be sidelined for at least a week with a left wrist sprain. Aybar ended his winter ball season short for the same reason. Freezo hit on this topic yesterday, but Aybar is pretty-well entrenched in his position as the primary corner infield back-up as well as the designated hitter position.
Since it's just February, I'm not going to get into full rosterbation should the injury become a bigger problem as we inch closer to April 6. On the surface, expect Dan Johnson to get increased reps behind Carlos Pena at first. At third base, it is likely that Joe Dillion, Elliot Johnson, Sean Rodriguez and maybe Reid Brignac could see a few extra ground balls at the hot corner. The absence is precautionary, however, a wrist injury is much like a hamstring injury in terms of it's lingering affects weeks and months after the injury.
Just another thing to keep an eye on over the next six weeks

Could be. It popped up when I searched for Aybar in our AP feed.
Said Winston Abreu and Willy Aybar. I couldn’t really tell but I heard Willy got a new hair cut.

No two pound cheek of 'chaw' in his mouth
seriously Willy is like Man Ram’s twin when it comes to cheek content.

Rodriguez quote
“They tell me its me versus Zobrist versus Brignac but as far as I’m concerned it’s me versus me” Confident guy but he is prob right, he will get a roster spot
Also, my source is St Petersburgh Time
Fire and Ice: Rafael Soriano and J.P Howell.......with their side kick Grant the aussie Balfour!
Hmm...I actually didn't interpret that as cocky at first
But then on second glance, I got what you meant. The way I read it, it sounds like he was trying to express that he’s simply trying to be the best he can be.
I love Casey Fossum. Now try and take me seriously.

I see it as him trying to view it as it is his to win
and that the only person truly standing in his way is himself.

Sounds like a ST cliche to me

It's obviously early
but not the type of news you want to hear. Like Tommy pointed out, these things have a way of hanging around.
