OTTOTD 2/5/10: Crazy Catch and Fans Abroad
Okay, first this crazy catch that the guys on The Book blog pointed out the other day:
BEST BASEBALL CATCH EVER (via SpaceAceTX)
Yeah, nuts.
Okay, the real reason I posted this was because I noticed how there seems to be a third Chicago Rays fan on the blog (one other than myself and CubsFanRaysAddict -- which is the name I would steal if I could). It got me wondering (because I recall that like Tommy Rancel or RJ or someone was in DC) how many DRBers are actually in the Tampa Bay area?

Can't I have my dreams?
But yeah, there are a couple of non-sequiturs in the clip, namely: why was she in that corner (instead of behind 3rd base), since when is AAA production quality that good, and why was there a camera trained on that corner for the slo-mo replay?
Still, it’s a fun watch.

I'm local.
R.J. lives is a basement (duh). Pretty sure you’re thinking of RGlass who is in that DC area.

I was born in Indiana, but raised in Panama City, FL.
For some reason, we got every Rays (and Devil Rays) game, so I naturally became a fan.

I never even saw Tropicana until I had already been a fan for 3 years.

Born and raised in Tampa
Now live in South Bend, IN (about an hour and a half from Chicago).
Considering who's sang in the Super Bowl halftime show the last few years
I’m thinking Neil Young and Crazy Horse for next year.

Wow, The METROPCS and the Brett favre
commercial made me chuckle a bit.
Official head of the Eric Berry bandwagon.
Buc'em- Your source for everything buccaneer.
Rays fan, U.K. Branch.
I’m a Rays fan all the way from England, and yes I’m English rather than an uprooted American living abroad. This isn’t an appreciation grown from the 2008 magic either; I’ve suffered with the rest of you since 2003.
This is actually the first time I’ve written on the site despite having stalked for a while now, and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoy the discussion and analysis that takes place here. First rate, keep up the great work!
Oh shit, two Brits in one day!
The other guy didn’t answer me, but what footy side do your root for?
Reading F.C.
We are currently languishing in the depths of 2nd tier football in ‘The Championship’, but hey, we had a couple of glory years in The Premiership a few seasons ago. A couple of my favourite former players were Americans in Bobby Convey and Marcus Hahnemann. Reading are my local team and I’m off to a game in a few hours actually. I’m Hoping for a win but the football (soccer) God’s aren’t exactly on our side right now.
How about you? I’m guessing you appreciate English football too.
Adore it.
I suppose I’m lucky considering I wasn’t born into the team, so I ended up throwing myself into Spurs right after Martin Jol took over Jaques Santini. The Reading-Spurs match from two years ago, 6-4 in our favor, was fantastic. Horrible defending, but just a superbly entertaining game, one I try to show people who think footy can be a bore because they’ve been subjected to Chelsea/Liverpool snoozefests.
Hope you guys get back into the Prem sometime soon.. particularly if it’s at the expense of the Spammers.
There’s a couple of Chelski and Arsenal fans here, but they’re a bunch of queer steers.
Indeed, how not to defend 101.
The sad thing is, in the same year, we did it again by losing 7-4 to Portsmouth! Unsurprisingly we got relegated that year. I just noticed that the other Brit you were talking about is a Coventry City fan…. I expect he will enjoy the new alternative baby blue jersey just released by the Rays.
You made a good choice with Spurs; they are playing some pretty decent football right now with Defoe on fire.
But you did put Liverpool out of the FA cup...
Which sucks a bit. Hope you take care of West Brom this weekend. Your Aussie guy, Federici, needs to impress if he wants a WC cap and the only way he can do it is to keep a clean sheet.
