Did the the guns slow down in just '09,
or were they slower before that?

I didn't notice them in 2008.
Although I only noticed them in 2009 because the numbers were down from 2008.

I would have preferred to have seen the losses in % form
A guy going from 96 to 93 doesn’t seem as big as 92 to 89
