I feel like she's completely missing the point.
1. It’s 900k
2. It took her until the last paragraph to mention his platoon splits, and even then she only talked about one year worth of data.
Some bitches are born, she was made.

It's spring training for everyone. I'm just trying to show the team what I can do. I'm in the best shape of my life.

Can we get a summary of her opinion or a couple of quips for those that value their money more than a BP sub?

It's like 800 words of her talking about IBB+HR, then another 200 talking about how Blalock isn't a good full-time player, how he might be made by that park, and how she doesn't get the fascination with him.
It’s like we gave him a few million and assured him a starting job.

Since when is IBB+HR
indicative of anything? He probably isn’t a good full time player, he probably was helped by the park, I wouldn’t use the term fascination, but when a useful spare part gets added how about using credible metrics to analyze the deal. I don’t like the Yankees getting Granderson because he had a .319 SLGCON against lefties. He wouldn’t make a good full time player, his triples numbers were helped by the expansive park he played in, and he’s making lots of money, frankly, I don’t get their fascination. Plus, A-Jax hit a dinger yesterday, super star. Evan Longoria sucks because his SF+GIDP is less than league average.

This point of view does sound familiar.

I'm about halfway through Baseball Between the Numbers
Pretty good read, but you have to wonder how much they were hurt when Nate Silver, et al. moved on to greener pastures. It’s pretty tough to replace solid, hard work.

I got about a chapter in before getting derailed with other things, but it's on my list of things to do.

It's better as a first step than if you already have quite of bit of knowledge, that said,
Every chapter I still feel like I’m learning something new here and there. I just wish it was in wOBA instead of EQA.

I have bought their book 3 years in a row
and visit their website periodically. Lately they have been coming off as very conceited about their opinions and themselves. I don’t like it
It looks like a mirac
BP
I concur. I have been a subscriber for about 7-8 years and the staff seems to be always changing, too much off subject chat, and their “bread and butter” analytical work has suffered terribly. Their PECOTA projections have been a disaster this year.

Its been that way a long time
It depends on who is writing. Its fun if they’re trashing a team or prospect that is one of your competition, but if they trash your team then its not. Kahrl has written stuff about Milwaukee that wasn’t familiar with the roster or just accepted cliches about some players.
Kahrl and Goldstein are members of the BBWAA now so no awards for Hank.
I like a half dozen or so of their current writers.
