PrintFinally, baseball is back. After the longest offseason in the history of ever, the Tampa Bay Rays will kick off 2010 spring training today. That means the game day threads will be awaken from their winter slumber. Thanks to all the people who stuck around during the winter to help us make/enjoy the best offseason in the sites history. Also welcome back to all the GDT'ers who we've missed over the past couple of months.

Outside of Shields and Garza, Jake McGee is obviously the most interesting name on the Rays pitching list. I'm interested to see how his velocity/stuff is looking at this point.

I think that may have been an outlier.
It was only a -0.9 UZR (it would constitute extrapolation beyond the sample size to look at UZR/150). I think he’s fine at 1B in the long run.

MLB.tv is well worth the money, imo
If you are a baseball nut, you can watch all of your games live, it archives the game so you can watch at work the next day without commercials, they condense every game to just the BIP/final pitch of AB so you can watch a game in like 15 mins, and they have highlights to get caught up on just the important stuff. $100 sounds like a lot, but it’s over 6 months, I used to have to go to the bar all the time to watch and that meant I couldn’t comment here and I’m running up tabs that might go to a hundo in a night. It’s a great deal.

This is my 3rd hat. They’re currently sitting on top of each other. I can count the number of autographs I haven’t kept for myself – they’ve all been gifts, AND I’ve told the player in advance and let them decide if they’re still willing to sign (which they all were). You could not PAY me enough to give up any of these items.
Besides, it’s not the autographs, it’s the experience. Each autograph came with a conversation.

So I've come to the conclusion that it would have to be a little Flash based tool.
Where you click the determine what the action was and then clicked the ball/strike count before clicking some sort of “Save” option where it creates a jpeg to hotlink too. It would be simple and easy to post. I’ll have to look into it tomorrowish.
