Rays package CC and Wade Davis for Edwin Jackson and cash.
In a somewhat shocking trade, the Rays have elected to move Carl Crawford and Wade Davis to bring back hometown hero Edwin Jackson. The move comes just as the season is about to start, and on the heels of the Rays admitting their biggest mistake, letting Edwin go.
Andrew Friedman had this to say. "It's obvious that by letting Edwin Jackson go that we hurt our ball club. With Edwin on the team we went to the World Series, without him, we missed the playoffs. It's no secret he is the catalyst for our success."'
When pressed for a response, Joe Maddon said "We knew this trade was coming. The fans took the Kazmir trade so well, we decided to one up that trade. Originally, we thought about trading Crawford for a few hundred pounds of hot dogs to keep Navi occuppied, but when you have a chance to bring back a player like Jackson and give up fringe players like CC and Davis, you do it. By the way, try the '95 Chambliss, it's awesome."
To get a fan's take, I talked to R.J. Anderson who said "One of the reasons I left DRB was because we didn't have enough Edwin talk. Now that he is back, I can focus on coming back and lighting the Edwin vs the world arguments." FreeZorilla chipped in with this quote. "I don't care unless he changes his name to Nevin Ashley Jackson"

Eh
if it sucks, someone can take it down. Just trying to hav some fun. Wasnt going for believable as much as preposterous.
Preposterous?
This is preposterous enough to scare an entire fanbase. Could you imagine going from having one of the best owners in the league to being owned by James Dolan?

Tyler almost committed suicide over one of John Sickels' April Fools posts
Can’t remember what the trade was though, and can’t find it in the archives (maybe he deleted it). It was another one where we raped the Mets.
Sickels has actually caught some people with his. Once he said that Mark Pawelek was impressing in Cubs minor league camp with a 99 mph fastball, and Sports Illustrated actually picked it up.

Effing David Wright for Jesus Colome and Bobby Seay.
It was just before the season started and Wright looked like a stud and we had a huge hole at 3B. I was so happy, it took me an hour before I realized what happened. It was 2005 and the site was really new and I didn’t realize what day it was. He made up quotes from Lamar and Piniella. Piniella was complaining about losing his set-up man, completely believable.
