How long will the Rays stick w/ Upton in CF?
I sh$t you not, this was on ESPN today:
"Yes, it's early, but seven games into the season B.J. Upton is just 7-for-28. Manager Joe Maddon isn't likely to make a move for a little while, giving Upton ample time to get things right at the plate, but how long can the Tampa Bay Rays wait?"
It's on "Insider" so I don't want to post the entire article (copyright issues and all), but wow. Who would type this? So hitting .250 and playing awesome defense through 7 games is grounds to be replaced these days? I wonder if a retraction will be posted after Bossman's 2 HR's today...

ESPN gets one of these too.

So Upton has sick range, speed, is batting .250, is a threat to steal, and is starting to show a little power? Sure he NEEDS A BRAIN TRANSPLANT WHEN RUNNING THE BASEPATHS but yeah aside from being a ditz the I don’t think he goes anywhere anytime soon.

Better question: Why pay for such "insider" info?

The NFL draft stuff isn't all that bad
quite frankly, none of what I have read from “insider” has been all that terrible, until this gem. It needed brought to DRaysbay’s attention. I couldn’t just let this one go. Alright, I have to post the rest of it. it’s too good:
“There is very little margin for error — or for lack of results — in the American League East with the Yankees, Red Sox and upstart Blue Jays all battling for the same two postseason spots as are the Rays.
One thing that helps Upton and perhaps buys him a little more time is the injury to top prospect Desmond Jennings, the likely answer should Maddon and GM Andrew Friedman decide it’s time to pull the plug on Upton. Jennings began the season on the 7-day disabled list in the minors with a wrist injury, and wrist injuries have been known to linger at times.
We’ll check in on this situation after Jennings return to the lineup in Triple-A Durham."
