I would hope that something as simple as walks would be a bit more relevant then hits.
I mean, either he walks more or he Ks more, either way it’s better then GIDP.

The Mets line up looks so weak
With Beltran and Reyes out for a while, they have to rely on bench players to play every day. Bay should be fine but who knows if Wright comes fully back to form immediately. Having to depend on Frechy, Matthews, and Tatis/Murphy every day seems hard to stomach. Even their rotation is below average.

that’s a very mild way of putting it. their rotation, after Johan, is like a fucking train wreck. I think Dave Cameron put it perfectly on Fangraphs earlier today. the Yankees may spent a lot of money, but at least they have some clue how to spend it. the Mets spend a ton of money for the sake of spending a ton of money.
seriously, why the hell were they so concerned about getting Jason Bay when their rotation was in shambles entire the off-season?

Fastballs out of the zone gave him trouble. I kept looking for velo since he hardly ever threw anything offspeed, but the stadium gun was off.
Still, 1 inning scoreless against the Mets’ ML middle of the order isn’t bad for a guy in A-ball.
