What conditions must be met before Soriano smiles?
If we win the World Series, will he then? Does he even have teeth? I’m going to make this my pet project for the summer. You guys worry about your faggy BABIPs and VORPs.
RIP Andy Hellicksonstine. He died, like so many young men of his generation, he died before his time. In your wisdom, SBN, you took him, as you took so many bright flowering young men at the OTTOTD. These young men gave their lives. And so would Andy. Andy, who loved trannies.

I like that in their own stadium they never had more than a 50% chance at a win

That was literally the worst move the Rays FO has made since the new regime

this was a good away series
the Rays played two good teams – A’s and Angels – and still came out with wins even as their batting numbers were… well, wobbly at best.
Witty's 2010 Draft review is full of meaty goodness. What you mean, you're vegan?! Sigh. Just read it.
A's ended being way underrated this year
It’s nice to see them play well.

After the first game at the Trop
against the A’s I felt they had some bulldog in them. But day-um the Rays bats just handed DB that gem. Still, 6-3 is a great roadie. .500 on the road from here get’s the Rays 50 road wins for the season. That’s what a good start can do.
Worthless.

Okay, so maybe the season isn't as over as I thought it would be
But still, only going 6-3 proves to me that there was a definite hangover

Is it just me or is our interleague schedule really unfair?
We play the Astros, Braves, Marlins, Marlins, Padres and D-Backs.
The Yankees have to play the Phillies and Dodgers, and the Red Sox play the Phillies, Dodgers, Rockies, and Giants.

Don't know, outside of what I mentioned its not used that much. The new MLS team isn't arriving until 2012.
So the only thing I can guess is either a conflict with like a concert or as mentioned before the money angle.

Can someone please explain to me why....
We are the best team in baseball and I get to listen to 620AM bash Maddon, our team, our desire, etc… every morning and evening?
If someone on 620 said anything nice, the station would burn to the ground.

I guess it just aggrivates me..
I moved here about 5 years ago and all I heard on the radio was “the Bucs lost b/c Allstot doesn’t get the ball enough”…
Then I got to listen to the why’s of why my newly adopted 2004-2007 Rays suck….
And now I have to listen to why we are awful, despite being the best team in baseball. I guess it just gets to me and it shouldn’t. But a real part of me thinks that most sports fans listen to 620 on their drives. They hear this negativity and, since most are lemmings, they buy into it and call in to feed the AM and PM egos. Maybe that is some of the fan problem and the negativity towards our teams.
btw... by "feed the AM and PM egos"
I meant feed the egos of the AM personality and PM personality on the radio"
that didn’t seem clear to me when I re read it.
Personally I think it's part of the football mentality.
1 game in baseball doesn’t mean as much as one game in football, you can’t draw conclusions from a handful a baseball games like you can football.
Not to mention step #1 in Local sports talk radio seems to be to establish an enemies list (i.e Maddon, Upton, etc.)
They are worse about football
A decision is right “That is Gruden’s guy”, a decision is bad “that’s Dominick or Rah’s guy”

A pick is wrong “Gruden should be fired”…something goes right “he is here b/c of so-and-so”

I think it's fair to criticize Maddon, but not to the extent that Duemig does.
To be fair, Sileo pretty much kisses his ass and doesn’t question anything he does. It’s like the two stupidity extremes. I can’t stand it. I wish I could get 1010 on my car radio.
It's too much work for most people...
And difficult to get in depth with on radio
He doesn't even try.
You know he doesn’t analyze advanced stats. He could be intentionally vague and he’d fool most of his listeners anyway.
Most of the listeners think CC should lead off & Longo bat 3rd

These really aren't *bad* ideas, there are just better options.
Last year, they wanted Bartlett at leadoff and Zobrist at 3rd, and now they have what they want. I’d like to see them take ownership for their stupidity, but at least it’s progress.
Truth
Ron and Ian know nothing about baseball but they have a great show.
Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt.
Got to agree here. I hold their opinions at absolutely zero value, but I still find them entertaining.
Thirded, but....
Ron’s new-found hatred of Randy Choate is starting to get on my nerves. I just know that even though Choate got his man out tonight, all Ron’s gonna do tomorrow is harp on a run scoring in the process and “almost blowing the game” or something like that.
But overall, Ron and Ian are fun to listen to on the way to work in the mornings.

Ignorance about sports
and a bad start by a role guy will get the rise out of the audience. Ron Diaz is an entertainer, and a pretty good one.
I had an (unfortunate) opportunity to read through the TBT rag, and there was an article about Duemig – he claims he never spews about something that he doesn’t belive in. I can’t be sure about that…
By ANY measure, old-new school Joe Maddon has been the most sucessful manager in this team’s history, yet Duemig keeps harping on “he’s not a baseball guy”. For chissakes, Maddon has spent nearly 40 years at high level professional ball, and Duemig believes Maddon “doesn’t know baseball”?
It’s just a button, a button the Duemig swears he doesn’t push. BS
People have been trained ..
To believe BA, RBI’s, SB’s are king. People dont want to believe everything they “knew” about the game may be incorrect.
This goes back to the Romano argument.
Is it Duemig’s (or any other radio personality) job to inform the fans, educate the fans or provide an arena of discussion. Don’t get me wrong. I wish he (they) would inform and educate fans. I have no problem with them being critical, but to dismiss ideas and opinions because they simply dont mesh is absurd.

Duemig seems to try, from time to time
on sabermetrics, but as soon as we lose a few games he is on “batting order”, “Maddon”, “cut Burrell”, “Scotty was a Salary Dump”, “Attendance (don’t ban me)” kick
Isn't that the point of sports radio?

It's sensationalism.
Every play, player, game, situation is the best or worst ever. I have to think that as a radio personality your goal is to not talk sports, but to rile people up to get callers. They flip flop all over the place. First Duemig/Sileo/Ron/Ian hates the Rays/Bucs/Gruden/Pena and then a week later, they are seeking out ways to reproduce with the person or thing they hated so much. It’s a bunch of people talking loudly and spewing opinions that they don’t necessarily believe in, but ones that will bring in callers.
As you can always expect come from behind victory is when you least expect it.
Of the 7 runs that were scored
