Minor League Highlights 5/15
AAA Durham Bulls W 7-3
Heath Phillips made the start for the Bulls and allowed three runs in seven innings. Ryan Shealy was the man of the night belting his seventh home run in a 1-3 effort that included a walk. Joe Dillon was 2-4 with his 9th double, while Chris Richard was 1-3 with a walk and his 12th double. Desmond Jennings had the night off, and Justin Ruggiano made his return from a bicep injury going 0-3 with a walk.
AA Montgomery Biscuits L 7-4
Jeremy Hall had a night to forget allowing six runs in three innings of work. Once again the offense was led by Nevin Ashley who went 3-4 with a pair of doubles (6) and his second triple. Chris Nowak chipped in his second home run of the season. JJ Furmaniak was activated on the Biscuits roster.
A+ Charlotte Stone Crabs W 4-0
With the recent promotion of Shane Dyer to Charlotte, most of the speculation revolved around him taking Chris Andujar's place in the rotation. Andujar gave the Rays 8.1 innings worth of reasons to evaluate other options tonight. Andujar allowed one hit and two walks while striking out two. In a strange twist 17 of the 19 batted outs were actually in the air. Tim Beckham (3) and Matt Sweeney (6) each homered in a 1-4 effort. Leslie Anderson was 0-4.
A Bowling Green Hot Rods L 4-3
Kyle Lobstein pitched six shutout innings allowing just two hits and three walks while striking out five before the bullpen managed to fall apart. Ryan Wiegand was 1-4 with his seventh double, and Brett Nommensen made his return from the disabled list in a 1-4 effort.
