AAA Durham Bulls Game 2 L 1-0
18 runs in game one, so this result seemed somewhat inevitable. Carlos Hernandez pitched two scoreless innings prior to the call to the pen, so let's hope he is okay. RJ Swindle allowed the lone run on a home run to a righty in his two innings of work. The LOOGY candidate did strike out four. The offense was two-hit, as Dan Johnson and Angel Chavez each had a single and a walk.
AA Montgomery Biscuits W 6-1

Tim Beckham's wOBA now up to .333 and OPS up .717.
Still has a .256 BABIP, but he’s walking 9.4% of the time.
It's great to see him get it going.
Hopefully it’s the beginning of a good year and noit just a hot streak. Either way I think his season line will be down from what it could be because of the wrist injury.
Beckham's last 10 games:
.341/.386/.683/1.069
41 ABs, 2 BB, 8 K, 3 HR, 2 3B, 1 2B
The BB/K is lower than you like to see, but the way he’s swinging the bat you gotta imagine he’s swinging at mostly good pitches. His k-rate is down at just under 20%, but you’d like to see it even lower.
His May line is up to .257/.333/.500 which is very respectable. His k-rate for the month is much too high at 30%, but his 9% walk rate is a step in the right direction. Gotta love the power outburst.
From everything I've read on this site
A lost of those Ks are looking, versus swinging. The hope is that he’s trying to improve his plate approach (which is better than just him not being able to make contact)

The increased BB% bears that hypothesis out as well

Can't afford actual bases in A ball
They use stones instead
