Can Davis work magic against the Yanks and Sox in back-to-back starts? Buchholz is no push-over, so I hope so.
Keys for Rays:
- Patience by the Rays. Buchholz has walked over 4 batters per nine so far this year while only striking out about 6 per nine, so make him work counts.
- Get to the bullpen and make it work. With Beckett's situation uncertain, the Red Sox have been lucky to get some nice performances out of their starters recently, saving their bullpen for the time being. It'd put a lot of pressure on the Sox later in the series if the Rays were able to get to their pen in this game.
- Slow down Youk. Kevin Youkilis has been on fire this season (.460 Weighted On-Base Average), so he's a bat to watch out for.
