CC Admits The Inevitable
In a Sports Illustrated article due to come out soon, Carl Crawford is quoted, being blunt and straight-up about his (and Carlos Pena's) impending free agency:
On the potential of Pena and Carl Crawford leaving after the season: "This core group is going to still be together, me and Carlos are the only two guys that are going to be leaving," notes Crawford, perhaps giving away more than he should. "We definitely feel like this is a special year for us, and we would like to do something good."

Please go to the national league Carl
I really really can’t stand the thought of him in a Yankee or Red Sox hat
Same with Pena
Free Dan Johnson!
I've been hoping for this bigtime
Don’t know much about their payroll habits though. Is their ownership group willing to shell out the cash for a long term deal for him?
They have the black hole of a contact that is Carlos Lee
"I think we should put this guy on blast and let all the guys around town know to make sure you don’t leave your GFs around Evan Longoria while he’s in town because he has no class or respect for other men."

Rangers
DRB: There is certainly good content, but other than that the behavior here is pretty poor; They are right, you are wrong. End of story.
This is supposed to be the less technical, more relaxed blog for cool kids.

The last option should really say
Do nothing, ride it out, and collect the compensation picks.
I think it’s reasonably likely they’ll be Type A or B free agents.
There's always the risk of injury
If he plays the full season then there’s no reason he shouldn’t be, although whatever secret formula the Elias Sports Bureau uses gives strange results sometimes.

Billy Wagner was one last year right?
That really chapped my ass. Red Sox traded peanuts for him, played in like10 games and let him walk for draft picks.
Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt.
Update: CC says he was taken out of context and reporter was a douche (kinda)
I never said me and Carlos are leaving. I just said this is a special year so guys like me and Carlos want to play well to try and do everything we can to do the best we can. I never said me and Carlos were leaving, he said it in the question. I never said it, because I know better. He did that. … I definitely wouldn’t speak upon Carlos’ future because I don’t know what he has going on. That guy asked me the question saying that and I just answered it how we’re trying to win for the team, not even thinking about it. If I knew that’s where he was going with it, I probably would not have even talked to him at all. I just hate to see that he did it like that because it just makes me more aware of how the questions can come I guess."

I wouldn't doubt they were "leading questions" at the very least
But CC knows better. Only speak in cliches. Somebody needs to watch Bull Durham again.
No matter what, we keep Pena
For at least 1-2 more seasons.
Dropping Soriano, Pat, and Bartlett will free up quite a bit of payroll. If we can keep CC with that, then we ought to. No trading unless we’re out of the playoff picture (which is probably not going to happen).
