Evan Longoria, Carl Crawford, David Price Among 2010 American League All Stars
The Rays will be well represented in the 2010 All-Star game. Evan Longoria and Carl Crawford will form the first Tampa Bay duo to start for the American League squad while David Price has a chance to be the first Rays' pitcher to start the mid-summer classic.
David Price
11-4, 2.42 ERA, 3.69 FIP, 4.08 xFIP, 7.52 K/9, 3.51 BB/9
Evan Longoria
.294/.368/.500, 12 home runs, 24 doubles, .382 wOBA
Carl Crawford
.320/.379/.495, 7 home runs, 29 steals, .390 wOBA
As of press time, the AL team is not finalized, but if this man doesn't make it...

Matt Joyce needs consideration
Obviously a joke but I hope he can make more impact this year. Congrats to a local kid!
It's a shame that closers get all the publicity, because Benoit certainly deserves consideration
Regressing to the mean streets of St. Pete
Benoit has been a stud
Yesterday he slammed the door during eigth. Balfour was horrible though-surprising?

I agree. but historically, isn't the All Star game a showcase for starters and closers?
What 8th inning guys have gone?

Girardi is an idiot
All these stupid yankees are on the roster and don’t deserve it. Also alot of stupid Red Sox are on it and don’t deserve.

Errr
What reliever can you remove for Soriano? The other ones have all had even better first halves, except perhaps Joakim Soria, and I’ve always been a fan of his

Take off Matt Thorton and that 3rd basman Rodriguez
and get Soriano and either Rios or Konerko so you still have a Whitesox player.

Has Rivera *really* been better than Soriano this season?
It seems to me that he made it this year on his name alone

Yep
His ERA, FIP, and xFIP are all better. And you know what? Even if they weren’t, I don’t think it’d be a huge sin if he made it on name alone over Soriano. Longo made it over Beltre on name alone.

Dayum. Alright, I'll retract that...
It’s been a good season for top-tier closers, I guess.

Can't believe Joey Votto and Mat Latos didn't make it for NL
Former Ray Delmon Young made a case for himself. And the suprise former Ray to make the NL All Star roster? Pittsburgh RP Evan Meek.
