Josh Hamilton
Hey Rays fans. First off, congrats on the kick-ass season your team is having. Now, I'm a longtime Ranger fan, and we've been blessed to get to see Josh Hamilton play the way he has this season. IMO, he is the MVP this season. What I wanted to know what your opinion about him is. Are you glad to see him doing well, even with another team? Or do you guys still get mad knowing that he could be putting up these numbers with the Rays? Thanks for your time, and it looks like we'll be meeting in the ALDS. This scares me. Oh yes, and F the Yankees and Red Sox.
Love,
HornedFrogs45

Love cubfanraysaddict,

just kidding, I still wish we put up with Elijah Dukes, and I think everyone with hindsight knows Josh should have been put on the 40 man roster.

I wish Josh the best.
The truth is anyone who was around Josh when he first came up w/ the Devil Rays reported that Josh wasn’t happy being a Devil Ray. He made the best of the situation and was on the fast track. Then his parents were killed in the car crash that shook his whole world upside down.
I am unhappy that we stood by him for so long only to NOT put him on the 40 man roster, just so the Chicago Cubs to take a “flyer” on Josh and quickly trade him to the Reds.
I am glad to see him do well. It’s a “what could have been” situation. The Rays could have had a awesome out field w/ Carl Crawford, Josh Hamilton, and Rocco Baldelli. But, Josh had issues. Rocco got sick. But, that is the way of baseball. Every team seems to have one guy that got away the Red Sox have Babe Ruth, the Dodgers have Roberton Clemente, and the Rays have Hamilton. I am not saying that Hamilton is Clemente or Ruth, but he is one that got away. Best of luck for the rest of your season.

Josh Hamilton: What if?
Hey hornedfrogs45:
You should definitely appreciate Josh Hamilton in particular and your potent lineup in general, but the “what if” game is a dangerous one to play, especially in this situation. Josh needed a change of scenery, because he was on the road to prolonged addiction and even death here in the Tampa Bay area. There’s no way Josh Hamilton would have been who he has become today if the (Devil) Rays would have kept him on the extended roster. No way. I’m glad he repented of his sins and put his faith and trust in Jesus Christ, kicked his drug habit, and re-discovered his power stroke.
He has at least one fan here in the Bay area!
But he "put his faith and trust in jesus christ, kicked his drug habit, and re-discovered his power stroke" while still with the Rays, he was just in A ball.

Pat Burrell with Giants
Has anyone noticed that Patsy is reverting to form with the Giants? Is there an explanation other than (1) it’s the National League and (2) he’s not a DH any more?
He lives in the area here. He was never going to chance with all the negative support around here, and had to get a change in scenery
