This morning belongs to Dan Johnson, in all of his glory. That said, I'm not even going to try and distract from him with a feature article on someone else. Dan Johnson, you are The Great Pumpkin.

It's been a while since we last had a statistics Q&A and we use them so frequently on the site, it's about time we had another. Do you have any questions about any of the statistics we use here? Anything you don't understand? Lurkers are especially welcome to participate. Don't worry, no question is silly or stupid - and the regular commenting body will be on their best behavior (right, guys?).

If you'd like some resources for learning about some of the more advanced stats, I suggest taking a look at our All-Star break series: LuckOffensePitchingWins Above Replacement (WAR), and More on WAR.

If these don't do the trick, check out our wonderful resource, the Sabermetrics Library. It has a page for almost every statistic you could want, and attempts to clearly and easily answer the basic questions most people have. We don't want to be mysterious by using all these fancy acronyms; they don't take long to understand, but it does take a little brain power and willing to think outside the box.
