Great stretch of the season between your team and mine, though up to now last week's series games were certainly more entertaining. Hopefully tomorrow can live up to the hype of the final matchup.
But just to get the fever going, I bumped across something I thought interesting from about a week ago in Kevin Goldstein's Future Shock BP series.
This could get a rise from the group at DRB, I thought...
I don't subscibe so I didn't read the whole article, but I really wanted to share his opening here and catch the reaction. From his Future Shock article on 9/15:
"The minor league season is over, so it's time to step back and measure talent. Every organization fell somewhere on the arc from good farm systems to bad, but one clearly stands out when it comes to organizational pitching talent:
- Wait for it -
the Yankees." (gasps from the crowd!!)

I'm sure many among you will leap to the conclusion that Goldstein is simply showing his true colors, but I can tell you from a NY fan perspective, that aint the case. And not that I think KG is the gold standard of prospect analysts - he's too focused on ceiling and not enough on performance for my taste.
But that said, I had to share. Especially given this is viewed as the strength of the Rays org - in my opinion, almost the totality of its strength beyond hopes for the latest draft picks and DJ. Note I said "almost".
Enjoy tonight's game - the real fun approaches!
