When the Rays played the Braves this year I took this photo in the Turner Field Baseball Museum. As of today, the Braves are ranked 15th out of 30 for average attendance per game in 2010. Given time, more fans will attend Rays games too. It just takes time. The franchises in the northeast have had generations to build up a fanbase. Tampa Bay has only enjoyed 3 years of a winning team.

Excellent find low_and_away.
If Friedman can keep this team winning, I think the attendance will look much different in 5 years — when the labor market starts to recover.
