Until he hits 30 homers I don't wanna hear Zorilla
That’s awesome, I like how casual this is.
Hell yeah it is.
Any amount of points can be scored week to week. well, besides 1 point. Any number is as likely to be reached as another, since there’s only one of each number, each has the same chance to be hit. IT’s how the syetemof averages works.

Thanks...
Couple things I took fr speaking with BJ:
1)BJ’s a good guy. This nonsense in the media about him having a bad attitude and being a clubhouse cancer is retarded.
2)I think BJ is going to have a big year. His shoulder is finally healthy, and he remarked at how his swing never felt right because of the surgery.

Right on both accounts, I can't wait to see him ball out this year

Bj is going to have a big year now that his shoulder is healthy
-2009
-2010
-2011
Just saying.
BJ had his worst seaon in 2009...
After having surgery on his shoulder. His power numbers bounced back last season. He also said he swing had become too mechanical, which hopefully means he will see an increase in BA and OBP.
Joyce-Upton-Zobrist in the outfield has a lot of potential, offensively.
Founding member of the Leslie Anderson fan club. This support has little merit, but if he's ever any good then I called it.

I put no stock in what players say, sorry.
What are they going to say? yeah, i have no confidence, don’t know if i’ll ever be as good as I once was. No one says that.
For the past three off seasons it’s been watch out, BJ is healthy this year. This is the year he is going to break out. etc, etc.
The shoulder was a problem starting in 08, everyone thought he would put up big numbers in 09, then same excuse then in 10 his power bounced back a little but as you noted OBP still sucked. It’s the same old song and dance. He is who he is. He puts up an above average WAR. Nothing to sneeze at. But it’s time to start accepting the fact he may never be great, no matter how many feel good interviews he does every off season.

He has no reason to say his shoulder was a lingering issue...
As you mentioned, his power did bounce back last season. His OBP was awful because he batted in the .230’s.

As fans, of course we said he’s shoulder would be better every year because it makes some sense, and we all hoped it would be true. In 2009, it was just plain wrong. It happens. In 2010 he got a lot better and almost matched his 2008 production, so it was actually probably true. This year may or may not be better, but being another year removed from the injury surely can’t hurt.

Very nice interview
It’s too bad he didn’t answer the question about what kind of stuff Joe & the coaches tell the players that the sabermetric staff dug up.
