Ok we got an awesome return in the trade but its not what we needed. The centerpeice Archer is a starting pitcher and with Moore already grooming Archer is definetly expendable as a 5th starter as it will probably be Price Hellickson Niemann Davis Moore in 2012 unless we try him as a reliever.  The Rays can't even  fill out a 25 man major league roster this year and were doing prospect trades for our # 2 pitcher when we need big league talent. The Bartlett trade gave us at least 2 big league ready bullpen pitchers.  The Royals have the #1  system in baseball and they suck, they  are rebuilding the Rays won the freakin AL East last year and need to defend this and to do that when you have a big league core you trade prospectsto fill the holes,.  From what im seeing Uptons next to be traded and hes young as shite still. We need to stop trading the talent b4 they reach their prime or

(get expensive)The royals have to look on the future the Rays can win now.  Have the Rays ever traded prospects for Winners? Boston stocked up and is the legitimate winner but the yanks havn't done shite so we can still get into playoffs.  The only player from the trade who can only make the Rays roster is Fuld and thats as a backup of we still need an OF(I dont think Jennings is ready), DH, Closer and I don't think Johnson is a viable 1b option vs lefthanders so there needs to be a platoon.  I know ppl were against Niemann being closer but he was the odd man out last year injury prone and I think a guy thats 6ft 9 is alot more intimidating then a guy with a beard.  Unless you think Peralta is a affective closer.  They say the money will be reallocated but were gonna have to spend like 20 mil in the draft to sign all the high picks, and we need a closer and a Vlad Manny Thome type. Can the rays afford it I have no idea but the fact their doing prospects trades means maybe they dont care to much about defending the title.  So are they really trying to defend the titie or reap the benefits of this draft?
