Potential huge FA news
No, not the rumor of a tax if you don't spend enough, but that helps too. Teams that sign a Type A free agent will not give up a draft pick.

I wouldnt mind maybe trying a shot
at K-Rod if he isnt to expensive. I’m betting the Madson and Bell are to expensive for the Rays though and one will probly end up with the Sox. This also opens up a possible Cordero deal for us, but I just dont have a good feeling about him next year.
No matter how much they are hyped, my teams always find a way to disappoint.
Not real sure why you think a tax on spending too little
helps if you’re a Rays fan.
But I’m all ears.

Because if we have to pay a certain amount anyway
We will spend it on FA’s, not taxes.

Just looking at 2012 it could appear to be a plus as a fan, but I don't forsee anyway it could be good for the organization going forward.
Would all depend what the salary floor is to know the true effects. The number can’t force the Rays to not be sustainable going forward or else it would just force the lower revenue teams to never be able to compete. If they can’t spend more of their money in the draft or the international free agency route they won’t be able to be competitive. Spending more on free agency won’t matter long term if they can’t at least afford to get an average player that are now getting $8-10MM/year.
Not allowing teams to be able to have a rebuild year such as with the 2011 Rays payroll wise they will never be able to afford their arbitration eligible players, which is not sustainable for small revenue teams even for above average players not including top players.
We’ll have to see all the details this week when they announce the CBA changes to see how it will effect the Rays in 2012 and the future.
Everyone knows they need another hitter
but what the FO really needs to man up to be awesome in 2012 is not worry about Moore’s service time. I mean consider last year, we let Andy Sonnanstine start over Alex Cobb…..

What`s the deal with signing a second Type B free agent
If the Rays have signed Molina and lost their 2nd round pick, how would subsequent signings go ?

Type B's have never cost the signing team a pick.
The team that lost the guy would get a 2nd rounder but we wouldn’t give it up.

ahh...
I thought signing team forfeited a 1st for an A and a 2nd for a B
