This tidbit got picked up by MLB Trade Rumors, so I'm going to assume Shaikin is a rather reliable source. Also, it appears that the Astros are already interviewing other candidates, so it would appear that they don't expect to sign Friedman.
It was always unlikely that Friedman would leave the Rays for the Astros, but it's still good to hear it confirmed that he's not going.
