Post-game 4/30/2011: Rays win 2-1 (in extra innings)
WALK OFF WILD PITCH!!!!
- Shields had an amazingly good game but gets saddled with a no-decision because Ben Zobrist couldn't handle a groundball in the top of the 9th. Final line: 8 IP, 6H, 1 ER, 12K, 1BB
- Matt Joyce homered again. Was the only run until the 9th. (He scored the winning run after a leadoff double in the 10th)
- Joel Pineiro had a good start coming off the DL, holding the Rays to 4 hits and a single run.
- So many stupid mistakes. Shoppach managed to get a double play from a non-swinging strike out and interference. Zobrist botched a grounder that could have saved the Angels scoring a run in the 9th. Farnsworth and Kotchman paired up for an awful pickoff attempt in the 9th as well.
- Sam Fuld took a foul ball to the head while batting in the bottom of the 9th and then proceeded to bunt 3 times in a row ending in a strikeout.
- All it took was Fernado Rodney throwing a bad pitch.
