In the United States, Flag Day is celebrated on June 14. It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened that day by resolution of the Second Continental Congress in 1777.[1]The June 14 date is also when Congress adopted "the American continental army" after reaching a consensus position in The Committee of the Whole.[2] [3]
In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation that officially established June 14 as Flag Day; in August 1949, National Flag Day was established by an Act of Congress.
Flag Day is not an official federal holiday, though on June 14, 1937, Pennsylvania became the first (and only) U.S. state to celebrate Flag Day as a state holiday, beginning in the town of Rennerdale.[1] Title 36 of the United States Code, Subtitle I, Part A, CHAPTER 1, § 110[4] is the official statute on Flag Day; however, it is at the President's discretion to proclaim officially the observance.

Hell, here at DRB we constantly point out the idiocy of our fanbase. I really don’t think CC has meant much by his comments, he just has never been eloquent (understatement).

That was no burglar, I know the guy he shot. He was an under age boy (at the time). I disagree. I think he was out. At the very least, there is not enough evidence to overturn the call if there was instant replay.
The analysis is looking at the wrong foot. The ump looks to be saying "He got the back foot," meaning Ruggiano’s right foot. The right foot gets caught on Avila’s foot and Avila likely hit it with the swipe tag before Ruggiano was able to drop his left foot on the plate.

Lockout is nearing its end
The lead negotiating teams for the NFL and NFL Players Association have gathered Tuesday at an undisclosed location in the Washington, D.C., area in an effort to end the 91-day lockout, according to sources. It’s the third consecutive week the sides have met for “secret” talks.
Both sides remain guardedly optimistic. Sources have characterized the owners and players as being in a “deal-making mode” and hope to make significant progress over the next two or three days.

Minor league promotions rule
The Peoria Chiefs have added a LeBron James 2011 NBA Championship Replica Ring Giveaway to all fans on Thursday June 16 to enhance the Salute to the 1990s Chicago Bulls Championship Teams Night. The replica ring, which like LeBron’s is non-existent, will be handed out to all fans through the gates prior to the 7:00 p.m. game against Wisconsin.
Throughout the night the Chiefs will be celebrating a true champion, the 1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997 and 1998 Chicago Bulls. Despite having the greatest player of all time, the most decorated coach in NBA history and two other Hall of Famers, the Bulls always played, and won as a team. There will be video clips of the Bulls titles along with audio highlights and trivia while the team will take the field to “Sirius” by the Alan Parsons Project.
In addition to the LeBron replica ring, the Chiefs are looking into whether or not the game can skip the fourth inning to honor King James who took off the fourth quarter of every finals game.
“We aren’t sure if the league will allow it,” said team President Rocky Vonachen. “But if LeBron doesn’t need to show up for the fourth, maybe we won’t either.”

They are still really good.
They have been some of the best in baseball over the last few years.
We have avg more viewers then teams like 80% of teams including the Cubs, Angels, etc.
Much larger markets and we are have more viewers. Not just higher ratings, but actual more people watching
Down significantly to what, middle of the pack?
If the team is in the chase down the stretch, they will be right back up where they were last year.
Our fan base gets too much shit from ignoramuses elsewhere to have people here cannibalize them.

You can tell what fan bases are good regardless of the quantity that shows up just based on feeling.
I absolutely believe that ours ranks among the good ones. I get the same feeling in Baltimore, despite the slackening attendance. People care about the O’s, multiple generations of fans are among those at the games, and people wear O’s gear around town.
Similarly, there are tons of people with Rays gear on around the bay.

Without getting into stadium chat, I don't think that's an issue.
We had a large season ticket base and drew 31,000 fans a game in the inaugural season; the missing element the last few years has been the economy.
