So where and how would the Yankees match up. We are hearing that the Rockies like Jesus Montero, but would use him at first base. They have no interest in him being nothing else except for a back up catcher possible. So this reduces the value of Montero. That brings us to center field an area that a Greg Golson, Justin Maxwell or Chris Dickerson, might be a good option for the Rockies. Then we look at second base we have Corban Joseph by far better than any current option in the Rockies system. Potential starting pitching is our strong suit and would require a least one and maybe two major league talent or two and / or a future ace. We obviously have Ivan Nova, Hector Noesi, Adam Warren, Dellin Betances and Andrew Brackman. We have Eduawardo Nunez who has been a pleasant surprise at the plate this year but a disappointment in the field. But he can play 3B, 2B, SS and a corner outfield position. From watching him play, he is seems better suited for second base, because he has a tendency to wait on the ball rather than charge it. So what would it take?
Most report confirm that they would require at least three prospect and maybe up to five. Personally I believe a package of Nunez, Nova, Laird / Dickerson and Noesi / Bellantice would get the job done.
