First baseman the first Biscuit to receive honor in 2011 

MONTGOMERY, AL – The Southern League today announced that Henry Wrigley has been named the Southern League Hitter of the Week for the period from August 8th through the 14th. 

The Biscuits first baseman has used a monster second half to raise his average to .286, its highest point since his first week of the season. His 14 homers rank second on the team, and he's the team-leader in RBI with 65. He has also been a doubles-machine, clubbing 32 of them to rank fourth in the Southern League and second all-time in Biscuits history. 

The California 25-year-old carries a season-best 11-game hit-streak into tonight's contest with the Carolina Mudcats, and his .370 August average is tops on the team. 11 of his 14 homers have come during the second half, and three of them have come in the last week. 

Wrigley has had a flair for the dramatic in 2011. With the Biscuits down to their final strike in mid-May at Birmingham, he cranked a two-run double to cap a five-run comeback. Weeks later in Jackson, he delivered a pinch-hit RBI-double with the Biscuits again down to their final out. Most recently, an eighth inning two-run homer beat Huntsville at Riverwalk at the end of July. 

The second-year Biscuit is the first Biscuit to win Hitter of the Week in 2011, and the 14th in franchise history. Matt Moore took home Pitcher of the Week honors back in May.
