It’ll be up eventually for all to view.
It’s also not at the 100% finalized point yet. Still a considerable amount of work remaining. This is just the first time everything has been together in a single document. All the data is there but the wording needs some refinement.

I'm looking at low reynolds flow and i'm more interested in the heat transfer characteristics
Wear really isn’t something i’m concerned about, though it is mentioned as a possible issue.
And you’re right, the surface (I did three different geometries) did have some interesting effects on the fluid flow. Adding turbulence is better for heat transfer, but it’s not necessarily better for the entire plate.

Same concept as to why you get "cooler" in the wind.
The heat transfer coefficient goes up with fluids in motion, if I remember 12 years ago correctly.

yes, you want turbulence
On a flat plate the development of the thermal boundary layer ends up reducing the cooling effect across the length of the plate. This is true until the flow becomes more turbulent as the plate gets longer. Then the values increase due to agitation of the fluid, which helps break up the thermal boundary layer.
Basically it was hoped the patterns i introduced would increase heat transfer, both by increasing surface area and by introducing some turbulence. Unfortunately it’s a little more complicated than that.

Now I’m disappointed that I used up my go-gay list topic yesterday. :( This next one isn’t as good, but here goes. My car is in the shop (office movers rolled a filing cabinet into the side-I know, random) and there is no XM radio in the rental (which is an absolute sham) so I had to listen to an actual radio station. This morning, they were doing something called, “To Catch a Cheater” where the radio host calls the suspected cheater and pretends to offer him a free massage for 2 that he won and only needs the name of the other person. Well, this guy (50 years old) gives the name of someone who was not his GF (27 yrs old). GF breaks into the conversation between host and cheater because apparently, the other girl, is the GF’s stepmom. Wow. I hate Jacksonville sometimes. It’s like one big Springer episode.
Those segments are all over radio. One station in Orlando has done it for 10+ years.
They’re always hilarious to listen to because the guy is usually like why is my girlfriend on the phone.

Oh, I was.
I saw the movers when I arrived at work that morning, and deliberately parked on the side of the building (away from where they were unloading). I worked all day (through lunch) and when I walked to my car at 5:30, there was a huge dent in the side. I walked over to the movers (2 different sets of guys from 2 diff companies) and they both denied it. The guy from one of the companies finally admitted it after my boss just said, “It’s ok, we’ll check the cameras.” The driver then tells me, “I know a guy who does auto body work…” “NO.” “Well, how about if you make a claim to your insurance company and I make payments toward the deductible?” “NO.” He finally gave me the name of the company president, who agreed to take care of it and I’m getting it fixed this week. It pissed me off though.

they have some tech making 14 dollars an hour scan a patient and send the scans to india for radiologists there to look at and email their opinion, cause they work for nothing.

I have no issue with outsourcing, the only way to avoid it is to tax the shit out of it.
Then fees for these services go through the roof.
I’ve tried to determine ways I could outsource some of my less technical work in order to increase profitability.
However, having FDOT as my client probably makes that unrealistic and contractually forbidden.

I took 8 weeks off work the 1st time. I took 6 weeks the second time.
It was a lot easier on my body after the 2nd one. I was walking around Epcot 10 days after the 2nd birth. I can understand wanting to spend time with family and getting to watch the kid while she sleeps/count the fingers and toes/etc., but once the kid is born, it’s not very exciting. They sleep all the damn time, except for when they are eating or crapping.

I had an epidural both times, but no C-sections.

All father's should be so lucky
Most only get a few days off as it is and if they had something extremely important at work that couldn’t wait I’m sure they would go back sooner and take time after it was over. I know several people who have done this

I have known quite a few husbands who returned to work immediately after the birth because relatives were going to help out at home for the first few weeks, then they took their vacation (1-2 weeks) after a month or two, when the wife was actually feeling up to being out and about.

It was a little different, but I think it was better than most episodes last year.
I think they had to fix what they broke last year, so that’s why it seemed off. I thought (as did many) that it was a good different. Dianna Agron is hot, but her portrayal of a “bad girl” really fell flat. The rest of it though, was really good. Jany Lynch had some great zingers, and they are ramping up the Kurt/Rachel friendship in hopes of doing a spinoff with those two next year.

i was in jacksonville about a month ago with my gf.

The problem is the Marlins logo, with its modern-looking sans serif font, is going to get dated fast.

Bike Question
I was thinking about buying a bike. My primary interest would be riding on the road, with off road capabilities. I’m thinking of something like a hybrid.
I’d like to get a used one, maybe around $300. My biggest concern is on how to size the bike. I’m not going to be a “serious” rider. I’d probably use it to get to and from the gym and random weekend rides. So is there a range of sizes, or is it just if I feel comfortable on it.
I’m about 6’1, if that matters.

go to a bike shop and they will tell you what size you should use
then just look for that size
most models only have 2-3 sizes total anyways

I'm 6' and a 26" frame suits me fine. Don't really see a reason to go any bigger. Your seat is more important than the size of the bike.

I’d think a 19" or 21" frame would be the largest you’d need. I have a Specialized Hot Rock Sport, 17.5" frame/26" tires. It’s light, will easily handle road riding (I’ve done 6-8 mile stretches on the road with no problem) and does great on off-road/mountain trails.
Check with local bike shops for their specials on last year’s (or even two year old models). Often, the only thing that changes is the paint color, and maybe the color of the grips/lines. I got mine for about 20% off.

Your tires are probably 26". Your frame is probably somewhere between 19-21 depending on the brand.

hybrids are much closer to road than mountain for sizing purposes. a 21" road bike is good for someone up to like 5’7

Yeah. I probably could have gone with the 19" and been ok, because an 18" would have been perfect.
I opted for the 17" for comfort. It doesn’t stop me from crashing into trees or wiping out, but it’s comfortable.
I'm curious. Have you had any experience with hybrids?
I haven’t had any personally (I ride off road) but everyone I’ve talked to that has had them has traded them in for either a road or an mtb. I opted for the mtb, since the majority of my biking is done off-road (with a little biking around the neighborhood). I haven’t found many people up here who like the hybrid thing, so I’m curious as to what your thoughts are.
i use mine as a commuter. i was debating road-bike versus hybrid, and i went commuter.
most everyone i know rides hybrids though as they tend to do more commuting/city riding and they like the hybrid because they have some versatility. i just liked how light and the looks of the road bike better.
Ahh, gotcha. Yeah, most of my friends wind up doing a lot of off-road.
The few that do more road biking wound up purchasing road bikes.
No, I wouldn't want to add the extra weight to the bike.

yeah. i man i live in DC, so most of the people i know are riding as a means of transportation as well as riding trails in the city parks and stuff that are paved or close to it.
very few are doing much of any real offroad biking, and the few times they do a hybrid works fine. to me, hiking>mountain biking so i wasnt concerned about losing that functionaility. my bike flis, and should last for 30 years too.
