Who is hoping?

Wrist issues for baseball players are not good things. I wish CC the best but not the Sox.

cc had wrist issues in 2008, didnt he?

That was his worst year with the rays. I don’t hope for injury for cc but this is a benefit for rays. Could be one of worst contracts ever at this point.

Well, he missed like 5 weeks

but he had an awesome post season after Hinske filled in great for him.

Still love ya for that Evan contract, Hinske.

Matt Moore. That is all.

Or just put an ad in the paper

Actually we should place a new ad thanking him again.

OTM must be lighting up

I hope he has a good recovery.

While it’s good for the Rays if he’s out I still don’t wish for him to be plagued by injuries.

I'm wondering too, guys..
So, just curious… any chance this “routine” surgery corrects some wrist issue that affected his 2011 performance?

I mean, if 2011 was playing through some sort of injury that’s now been fixed, maybe there’s hope for an Ellsbury-like resurrection in 2012? Could you imagine if we got 30 HRs from both our LF and CF in 2012??

I thought we’d never win it all. And then we went down 0-3 to the Yankees in 2004, and I thought it was the end of the world.

Wait ’til THIS year!

’— and an MRI revealed a need for surgery to repair the cartilage in his wrist."

..if this made him bad last year, you’d think they’d do an MRI at some point during the season.

…oh, wait this is the Red Sox. He probably has terminal cancer then, and Youk will call him out for being selfish.

I bet he hurt his wrist

on that game winning hit (error) by the great Andino. He blew the redsox season on that play.

by Landlord on Jan 17, 2012 8:37 PM EST reply actions

OTM Part Deux
Only if the surgery

was brain surgery teaching him how to play the monster, then strengthening his shoulder so he can have an acceptable pickoff arm in Fenway’s LF.
I’d be down with

somehow convincing him to take up full-time missionary work for the rest of his life, leading to an early retirement.

Perhaps convincing him he really is a superhero

then sending him off to fight in the Middle East, Captain America-style.

Amazing

So Crawford can’t even sign his giant checks without getting injured.
His wrist shouldn’t have anything to do with his poor pitch recognition,*

or his crappy defense.

*I suppose he couldn’t check his swing, but that still doesn’t do much when swinging at curveballs in the dirt. Or flinging your bat at balls in the other batters box.

I distinctly remember watching him and Salty opening weekend and saying, "Is this a joke?"

Kind of off topic but V Mart is most likely out for the year.

I hope this doesn’t raise the price of remaining DH/1b types by too much.
