Nah, it's actually pretty good
He didn’t make the majors for his bat, that’s for sure. He’s fast and plays good defense. He’s only in case of injury with the MIF we have but on most teams he can be a pretty good pinch runner/come in late for defense.

but he’s fine organizational depth, and (as I’ve said 80 bazillion times), Elliot isn’t making the 2012 roster anyway.

Elliot Johnson will be on the opening day roster.
And his lack of options is definitely a big part of that.
This. We hated on him some during the year, but his defense is good.
Remember, the trio of Rays shortstops blew the league away defenisvely (according to The Fielding Bible Numbers, right?), and it really was a trio.

People love to hate our SS's
but all 3 are good and defense. Only Sean has the offense potential but still, SS’s are not easy to pass through waivers. Mets are a random team I can think of that would claim Johnson. I believe they only have rookie Tejada, I could be wrong.
That being said, if we go with 2 SS/2B types, or Rhymes or sign….one of those 2 bums, I wouldn’t cry over losing Elliot.

It was discovered Brignac does have an option left.
If Rhymes proves an adequate back up for all the INF spots then i see him being the only UTL infielder they keep. Brignac will start the uear playing 2B in DUR or be traded before
