i suppose, but eventually i might trade Niemann or Shields highalso, quit playing musical line up
I'd rather we trade SHields than Davis
I'm trading Yhields way before Garza
Shields earns $4.25 mil next season, Garza probably climbs to %5.5 but Yhields is basically a complete POS, so no matter the cost, i’n dunping his ass

i don't care what he makes, he's awful
The Rangers are doing well in post season because they have two top of the roto SP—Garza and Price can be those guys
Yields is a bottom feeder

at what point does 'the future is now' theory take hold?
Shields @ $7 mil is a bargain even for this Salvation Army run franchise Trading Shields might lose whatever fanbase remains
and with that in mind some clown on twitter suggests trading Shields at the deadlinefollow me on twitter @sternfan10
Trading James Shields because of his '12 salary, and yes that's the only reasonthis is being discussed, is completely out of the question
If the ownership feels $7mil for a front of the order SP is too much, then get out of MLB and find an Arena Football team to buy

Do not trade James Shields. Any return could not be enough forwhat you’re giving up, that is a top of the rotation SP at a very affordable price through 2013
We just drafted 12 players in the top two rounds of the draft, and our farm is rated very high. Unless Shields brings the top three prospects from a team’s Top 10 list which also rank high on BA, forget it

To those who suggest trading James Shields, and especially thosetrading him for prospects
The Rockies were able to get the Indians top 3 pitching prospects for Baldy Jimenez when arguably he was not at the top of his game. Point is Shields IS at the top of his game so now is not the time to deal him for top prospects. In a year or two if his game is fallen off a bit, he’ll still be able to bring in the top talent of another club, ala the Jimenez deal

Yep. I dump Shields, Pena, Peralta, Farnsworth, Keppinger, Upton
get some bats that at least are AAA proven, ready to conytibute, because next year the rotation is going to be good, and Rodney and McGee are good back end relievers
