Hello, this is my first article and just gonna see how this goes. I haven't seen something like this on here before and thought it could be interesting to go into the short history of the team and see some of the notable things that have happened on each day.
2011 - The Rays broke the record for most consecutive starts by a pitcher under the age of 30, previously held by the Washington Senators starting in 1913 and ending in 1917. It was a less than glorious start though, as James Shields was lit up by Oakland. Shields line on the day: 4IP/12H/10ER/2BB/2K/2HR
2001 - Fred McGriff and cash considerations were traded to the Chicago Cubs for Manny Aybar and a PTBNL (Jason Smith). Ayber never play in a major league game for the D-Rays and was released in the October of 01', while Jason Smith played in 27 games from 2002-2003, 1 game in 03'. During this time, Smith has a line of .225/.319/.544. Smith was released in the October of 03'.
