Apparently the same guy who tweeted the potential suspension of Melky Cabrera, four weeks before it actually happened last year, is laying another bombshell out there. He's using an anonymous source to make this claim so take this with a grain of salt but it's a big news story if true.

Ignoring the validity of credibility for this report, this would be huge news to the Rays (as well as my fantasy team). This would definitely put a dark cloud over the Yankees, as well as MLB, but the Rays would benefit immensely from a potentially severely weakened Yanks squad. With the AL East being wide open this year any negative outcomes for the rest of the division are welcome.

As a Rays fan who lives in NYC, it would add a plethora of quality jokes to my repertoire. Even if this report ends up being false please take caution drafting any of these fellows in fantasy because "I told you so!" would certainly follow. Once again odds are this will probably go away within a month with no validation and we will have to deal with Cano and Granderson (at some point) this season but as a Rays fan in NYC, one can hope.
