Triple-A Durham Bulls (15-8)
Despite another strong performance from Alex Colome, the Durham Bull's bats faltered in a 2-1 loss to the Syracuse Chiefs. Colome allowed two runs on five hits and two walks in his six innings. He also struck out six batters. The Bulls offense collected a total of three hits and three walks. Wil Myers, for the first time this year, failed to reach base. Rich Thompson went 1-2 with two walks.
Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (13-10)
Behind an excellent start from Merrill Kelly, the Montgomery Biscuits defeated the Birmingham Barons 3-0. Kelly went seven innings, allowing two hits while walking two and striking out six. Fleming picked up a hold with his scoreless inning, and Matt Nevarez recorded the save. Mikie Mahtook, Kyeong Kang, and Riccio Torrez all drove in a runner apiece. Mahtook went 2-4 while Cameron Seitzer went 1-2 with two walks.
Class-A Advanced Charlotte Stone Crabs (8-14)
The Stone Crabs woes, particularly against the dominant Fort Myers Miracle (18-4) continued on Saturday in a 2-1 loss. Felipe Rivero, the starter for the Stone Crabs, kept the game scoreless for his six innings, an impressive feat against the powerful Miracle offense. However, Lenny Linsky blew the save and Jacob Partridge allowed the winning run the next inning. Charlotte scored their only run in the third inning thanks to a two-out Luke Scott single that plated Kes Carter.
Class-A Bowling Green Hot Rods(15-6)
The game was postponed.
