A Radical Realignment Proposal

Stephen Dunn

Inspired by Rob Neyer's article Radical Realignment and the universal DH, which was driven by a quote from Bud Selig.

The Commissioner recently remarked that the transition to a universal DH would "likely take full geographical realignment". I tried to think up what that would look like.

My realignment strategy involved adding two teams and moving the Marlins out of Florida, while trying to keep rivalries together (geographical or otherwise).

This proposal would create three new baseball teams, including giving Montreal its team back, and expand the Rays fan base while ridding the league of Loria. Everyone wins.
