The Rays Tank: Let's just forget about that one

We wanted to throw bats during that game too, Ben. - Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

So, last night's game...the bright side? Today is an off day. It's not September. The Rays are only 2.5 games back. Stay positive.

Chris Archer was pulled with right forearm tightness.

Wil Myers had an asthma attack.

The team grounded into five double plays.

The bullpen was not entirely efficient.

It was the first series loss since June.

Add on that the game wrapped up right after 1:00 a.m. EST, and you've got last night's debacle.

Some nights just aren't your night, and in the Rays 9-8 loss to the Diamondbacks, it certainly felt as if things just weren't going the Rays way. For all the gory details, see Erik's early morning recap.

Luckily, despite scares, Archer and Myers both seem to be okay, per tweets from late last night:

Let's hope that a day off today can give the bullpen some rest and get the team back to their winning ways, before they open up a weekend series against the red-hot Dodgers in Los Angeles, who are 33-8 since June 21st.
