I think this was a great game. As such it deserves a great recap. Sadly, work still hasn't learned to schedule it's emergencies around baseball. Please send complaints to:

Here's what the game had going for it:
- A 4-0 clobbering and a series sweep of the Yankees on the Rays' path to the playoffs.
- Alex Cobb pitching seven shutout innings.
- Joel Peralta, with ice in his veins, working out of Cobb's eighth inning jam.
- Evan Longoria continued his hot hitting with three RBIs (two singles).
- Delmon Young hit a home run.
- The greatest reliever ever to play the game retiring with a home ceremony that by most accounts was genuinely moving.
For proper coverage, you should probably just head over to Pinstriped Bible. They do a good job over there. I know they'll have something worthwhile by the morning.
