Rays at Redsox game postponed tonight, doubleheader tomorrow

This is not Boston. - Joe Robbins

Bobblehead storage crisis averted.

There isn't going to be any Rays baseball tonight. The game is rained out. Of that much we are sure. Other than that? Well, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times has it covered. Let's step through the sequence (for timely news from the Rays clubhouse, follow Topkin).

Duh. If it's rescheduled for later in the season, Alex Cobb might get a chance to pitch, as opposed to Cesar Ramos.

Well rats. The rainout got our hopes up, but I guess the Rays don't always get what they want.

That is rough. I mean, the Sox have this ratty old park, and there is no place to put the bobbleheads. The Rays have plenty of space to store bobbleheads in The Trop, but not everyone can be as fortunate.

But wait, never count out the Rays -- not when they have talented and determined players like Ben Zobrist.

What heart! What grit! What veteran gamesmanship!

But who is Zobrist and the players union kidding? These are the Red Sox. The game will be played when America's Team wants it to be played. And anyway, where would they put the bobbleheads?

When the Red Sox sell tickets, it becomes official.

Allegedly, Cesar Ramos will start the first game at 1:05, Chris Archer the second at 7:05. But quoting the National Weather Service forecast for tomorrow during the day:

Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 1pm, then showers likely. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Patchy fog before 3pm. High near 66. South wind 11 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

So they may need to find a place to store the bobbleheads after all. I recommend putting them underneath a dome.
