Rays down on the farm June 4: Three headed to FSL All-Star Game

The All-Star nod is nice for Leonardo Reginatto, but he's played on a bigger stage before - Koji Watanabe

Charlotte's offense has been solid this year, and that's reflected on the All-Star team

Leonardo Reginatto, Patrick Leonard, Justin O'Conner and the entire coaching staff will represent Charlotte in the Florida State All-Star Game in Bradenton on June 14th.  Their next four games are in Tampa if you missed your chance to see them recently against Lakeland.

Triple-A Durham Bulls (36-24)

A big inning aided by Pawtucket mistakes boosted Durham to a 5-2 win over the Red Sox.  Down 2-1 in the sixth, Robby Price led off by being hit by a pitch, and Hak-Ju Lee followed that with a single.  After Ray Olmedo sacrificed them into scoring position, Justin Christian reached base on a fielding error, and that opened the inning up.  A pair of sac flies put the Bulls up 4-2, and Cole Figueroa drove in the last run with a two out double.  Figueroa and Christian had the only extra base hits of the night.

Nate Karns' hot streak continued on the mound, and he really only made one mistake.  A half inning after Durham took a 1-0 lead, he allowed a solo home run to Corey Brown that tied the game.  He allowed just that run on two hits and three walks in five innings with six strikeouts.  Adam Liberatore was credited with the win despite allowing the second Pawtucket run, and Kirby Yates picked up his 15th save.

Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (30-29)

Montgomery came out on the wrong end of a back and forth game in their 7-6 loss to Mississippi.  After falling behind 4-1, the Biscuits scored the next five runs to take their first lead.  This stretch included a two run homer from Richie Shaffer, his eighth of the season.  Unfortunately, bullpen struggles late in the game cost Montgomery.  The Braves pulled within one against Andrew Bellatti in the eighth, and they followed that up with a two run single in the ninth against Santiago Garrido to retake the lead.

Montgomery's bullpen got a lot of work because of a poor start from Roberto Gomez.  He allowed two runs in 2.2 innings with three strikeouts, but since he gave up eight hits and two walks, it probably could've been worse.  Mississippi added two more against Jim Patterson before Sam Runion temporarily settled the game down with two scoreless innings.  Jeff Malm's second home run of the season got Montgomery on the scoreboard.  Ryan Brett reached base four times, stole two bases and was a home run shy of the cycle.

Class-A Advanced Charlotte Stone Crabs (28-28)

They lost a 4-1 lead, but Charlotte battled back to top Brevard County 6-4.  After falling behind 1-0 after half an inning, Tommy Coyle immediately answered by leading off the game with a solo home run to tie it.  The Stone Crabs looked to break it open with a three run second inning, but that lead quickly evaporated.  They scored the eventual winning run on a sixth inning sac fly by Kes Carter, and Marty Gantt added some insurance with a solo home run an inning later.  Maxx Tissenbaum had two hits.

Bruedlin Suero struggled for the first time in a while.  After allowing the first inning run, he lost the lead in the third in fourth innings on a two run home run and a bases loaded walk.  He finished with four runs allowed on six hits and two walks in four innings with two strikeouts.  Fortunately, the bullpen picked him up.  Parker Markel and Ryan Garton combined to strike out five in five scoreless innings of relief.

Class A Bowling Green Hot Rods (27-30)

Bowling Green was off.

Star of the day- Charlotte will be well-represented in the FSL All-Star Game.

Goat of the day- Gomez somehow only allowed two runs, but the hole he dug Montgomery's bullpen was taxing.
