DRB Awards-David Bloom Award

Media Awards

In honor of the founder of this blog, as well as thee original Devil Ray blogger, it gives me great honor to name the defacto "Best Blogger" Award after David Bloom. He may want me to be more modest, but David did great work over his three years blogging the Devil Rays, from the days of 'Ya Gotta Believe' to DRB. He leaves behind a blogging reputation that all of us try and live up to, and for that, I name this award in his honor.

For this award, vote for the blogger or fan writer from various Devil Ray blogs/fan sites around the net whom you think is the best. It could be for any number of reasons, frequency of posts (in which I am screwed), quality of content (uh..pass), among others. Quite simply, the fan writer whom you love to read.  Vote for your choice in this thread and discuss it; the winner will be crowned in the series' conclusion piece on Sunday, November the 19th.

Looks like this may end up being a tie...

I'm flattered
That someone would vote for me. I don't recall paying anyone.

Tyler
What about Tyler?

by TomT on Oct 14, 2006 2:14 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Tyler
Tyler is busy trying to learn how to teach and hasn't written in two+ months.  He doesn't get consideration for that fact :)

by Tyler on Oct 14, 2006 2:28 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I meant no offense, Tyler
I hope you realize that, but I didn't want to overdo it on writers here, so I chose the three most active. I didn't mean any slight against you.

No
I was being dead serious with my post.  I understand why I wasn't included.  I haven't written in two months, and wasn't added until mid season.  No offense taken.

P.S.  I'll write again sometime, I just don't know when!

by Tyler on Oct 14, 2006 4:12 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Take your time........
Far be it for me to attack someone else's writing frequency.

How do I lead in votes?
I never knew how highly regarded I was. My thanks to all, I am flattered.

That said, with respects to my compatriots here I personally must vote for Sam. He is a living example of quality over quanitity. In each of his columns you can count on wit, thoughtfullness, and lots of him expressing his opinion. And isn't that the epitome of blogging?

Sure you don't know how it's happened...
If you're going to use your mob connections, I guess that I will.

aww
That's sweet, but you spelled my name wrong.  Two L's.  I voted for Jay.

by Sam on Oct 16, 2006 10:57 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

The extra 'l' is expendable
Besides, you voted for Jay over me, why should I care what you think? :D

by Patrick L. Kennedy on Oct 16, 2006 11:10 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I voted
for Sam because you left me out :)!  Not really, he just makes me laugh!

by Tyler on Oct 17, 2006 12:04 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I voted
for myself, because I had the option to.

Hahahaha, if I could have another vote, it'd be for Sam.

by Jacob Larsen on Oct 17, 2006 1:29 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs
