Around SBN: Cal RB Jahvid Best Seriously Injured, Carted Off Field

This. Is. Garza.

SaberScouting is apparently a new blog ran by a scout, they did a small review on Garza, and man, check out his curve.

Oh yeah, and this guy hits 97 with his fastball. Excuse me, I have to go wipe off the drool.

The post has been updated with a ton of analysis on Garza's mechanics with pretty .gifs to boot, for instance this side-by-side comparison of Garza and Matt Cain:

Garza
really developed that breaking ball last season, and when he locates it, it is an incredible pitch.  Combine that with the blistering fastball and you have yourself one dangerous arsenal.  I know he initially had a cutter too, but I'm not sure if he's worked on that or not.

Anyway--enjoy Garza.  I was sad to see him go...but I'm still happy we got Delmon in return!

Re: Garza
Welcome!  Let's hope it works out for both teams.

Re: Garza
Jesse's easily one of my favorite SBN writers, I need to get him on BTB one day.

Thanks R.J.
Shoot me an email to the one listed on my user profile.  I've recently moved to the UK, so my work email won't be of service.  Get me that info on how to get into BTB, I'd be all for it.

Thanks!

Re: Thanks R.J.
Done. I remembered reading about your move, hope all is well across the pond - I promise I won't use that phrase a lot, once a week at most, maybe twice.

Re: This. Is. Garza.
That's a filthy pitch and I mean that in a good way. All I could say was "DAMN!" If Garza can throw that hook for strikes he'll have a long successful career.
