Sonnanstine Has a Ton of Pitches

St. Pete Times:

Some
specifics

Fastball -- A four-seamer that is straight, a two-seamer that tails because he holds it like a screwball, and a cutter.

Slider -- A standard one with short break, a slower version that "bends more" and one that's "between a slurve and a cutter."

Changeup -- One from his standard delivery, another almost sidearm.

Really good read, and trying to wrap your mind around Sonnanstine only walking 101 in over 600(fixed... silly RJ) pro innings is a hard thing to do.

Re: Sonnanstine Has a Ton of Pitches
It's 101 BBs over 625.2 innings. Still outstanding, but more reasonable. It is a very good article.

Re: Sonnanstine Has a Ton of Pitches
Very good read. Also proved an inside joke with my friends that once Carlos talks to a pitcher it calms him down and he does better.
